ANKENY, Iowa – In 2022, WHO 13 News introduced you to Keith Westbrook, known as ‘the wave man’ to students in the Ankeny area. Now, the man who goes above and beyond to brighten the days of local students has received a heartfelt thank you from the kids he’s made such an impact on.
For the last 9 years, Westbrook has waved to the kids as they head to school. Years later, the tradition morphed into “treat day” held on Thursdays after school. Hosted by Keith and his wife Rachel, kids and their families can stop by, chat about their days and get a treat on their way home.
But that beloved tradition ended Thursday, as Keith and Rachel are packing up to move to Florida.
