A Milo man is facing a felony theft charge following an investigation into alleged shoplifting incidents at the Indianola Walmart.
According to court documents filed in Warren County, 22-year-old Gaven Reed Bounds of Milo is charged with Second Degree Theft, a Class D felony. The charge stems from an investigation that began on May 18th when Indianola police officers conducted a traffic stop involving Bounds. Court records indicate officers observed signs of impairment and arrested Bounds on an operating while intoxicated charge. His vehicle was subsequently impounded.
According to the criminal complaint, a towing company later contacted police after discovering suspicious items left unsecured inside the vehicle. Officers reportedly recovered a Bose television speaker that still had an electronic anti-theft device attached, along with several other high-value items sold by Walmart. Investigators say pliers were found attached to the security device, indicating an attempt to remove it.
