Ames Residents Invited to Weigh In on Data Center Proposal

AMES, Iowa — Ames residents will have a chance to comment on a proposed data center and possible city policy for future data center projects during a special City Council listening session Tuesday, June 30.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Ames City Hall Auditorium, 520 Sixth St., officials said.

According to the city, staff received a letter in May from Lightedge, a Des Moines-based data center provider, expressing interest in building a data center on about 10.86 acres along Aviation Way. The site is directly west of property occupied by Sigler Companies…
