POLK COUNTY, Iowa — A plea deal has been reached in the case of a Grimes father accused of beating his two-month-old daughter to death last year.
Online court records show Dylan Brown, 24, has reached a plea agreement with the State of Iowa, and a hearing on the matter has been scheduled for Friday.

Brown is charged with first-degree murder, child endangerment resulting in death, and domestic abuse assault by impeding air or blood flow causing bodily injury. The charges stem from an August 7, 2025, incident at Brown’s residence in Grimes.
Court documents allege the child’s mother woke up to Brown hitting the baby. She told investigators that when she tried to stop him, he hit her in the head, chased her out of the bedroom, and then strangled her from a “Bear Hug” position until she passed out.
Brown later admitted to law enforcement that he hit the baby more than 40 times, all over her body, according to court records. The child suffered a fractured hip, fractured clavicle, and bruising around her vagina. She was initially transported to a Des Moines hospital, but was taken by air ambulance to University of Iowa Hospital, where she later passed away…
