ARL of Iowa rescues nearly 60 dogs, horses in three days

DES MOINES, Iowa — The ARL of Iowa says its crews rescued nearly 60 dogs and horses from two separate properties in the span of three days.

The Animal Rescue League of Iowa said Wednesday that in a span of three days, its Animal Welfare & Response Team traveled to opposite ends of Iowa to assist law enforcement in removing 59 animals from two separate properties.

Officials say the first rescue occurred roughly two and a half hours away from the metro in southwest Iowa and involved removing 56 dogs from a house and a camper. The dogs were living in filthy conditions and had fleas, according to the ARL…
