ANKENY, Iowa — A family is suing the Ankeny Community School District for negligence after they say their child was attacked during recess in March 2024.
Local 5 is choosing not to name the family to protect the child’s identity as the suit alleges multiple instances of bullying.
According to the suit, a child at Ashland Ridge Elementary was threatened with physical violence by other boys at the school. The child’s parents gave “explicit written notice” of the threats to officials at the school. The parents say school officials told the family their child would be kept safe and staff said the issue had been addressed…
