The City of Ames has broken ground on its $18 million new solid waste disposal and recycling facility.
The new Resource Recovery and Recycling Campus will be built on several acres of land along Freel Drive, just south of Lincoln Way. It will replace the Arnold O. Chantland Resource Recovery Plant, which is more than 50 years old.
