(WWJ) Metro Detroiters who plan to be driving around this weekend will want to plan ahead, with multiple closures scheduled on multiple freeways.
Here’s the rundown from Michigan Department of Transportation (updated as of 6/5):
- Eastbound I-94 in Macomb: M-3/Gratiot Ave. will be closed to Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd.), Saturday (6/6) at 8 p.m. though Monday (6/8) at 5 a.m.
- Westbound I-94 from Oakwood to 275 is going down to one lane down to 1 lane. Scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday through Monday morning, but could be canceled due to expected rain, MDOT said.
- Both Northbound I-75 and Southbound I-75 will be closing at 7 p.m. Friday (6/5) thorough 5 a.m. Monday (6/8).
All of this is weather-dependent.
As a reminder, this comes as Eastbound I-696 remains closed through next fall, with multiple ramp closures for westbound drivers. Get more on that project, here…
