Man engages in 7-hour police standoff in Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park police took a 25-year-old man into custody Friday morning, June 26, after he allegedly fired a shot in a home and engaged in a seven-hour standoff with officers.

Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 600 block of Park Street at about 11 p.m. Thursday. The man’s mother had called police to report that he fired a shot inside the home.

The mother was released unharmed, but her son remained in the home and was not communicating with officers, according to Lt. Ryan Hammerle of the Lincoln Park Police Department…
