DETROIT – The man accused of killing a 40-year-old Sterling Heights woman in a fatal hit-and-run while driving drunk in Detroit last fall was sentenced on Tuesday to 6-15 years in prison.
Cameron Lee Sims, 24, of Farmington Hills, faced five charges in connection to the Sept. 5 collision, including operating while intoxicated causing death, reckless driving causing death, leaving the scene of an accident when at fault causing death, carrying a concealed weapon, and using a vehicle in commission of a felony.
He pleaded no contest to all five charges in May, and was sentenced at the 3rd Circuit Court before Judge Anne Marie McCarthy. He received a 12-day credit for time already served…
