HAZEL PARK — When students file into Hazel Park Junior High School at the end of August, they will be greeted by a new principal: Heather Agueros.
Previously the principal at Webster Early Childhood Center the last two years, Agueros is taking over for Julie Kaminski, who resigned to take an administrative position in another district.
“I think it’s important to know, whether you’re dealing with 4-year-olds or 14-year-olds, it’s all about building relationships,” Agueros said of the move from early childhood education to the junior high level. “You’re creating a safe space for the student, at any age.
