The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced an extended closure of southbound I-75 over the Rouge River Bridge in southwest Detroit, spanning from Springwells to Schaefer. This closure is scheduled from 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, through 5:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, to facilitate essential bridge maintenance. The work includes the application of a protective surface to four bridges and an epoxy overlay on the I-75 Rouge River Bridge.
The Thursday night and Friday daytime portions of the closure have been incorporated due to repeated weather-related delays during prior weekend operations. Please note that ramps within the affected area will close three hours earlier than the mainline roadway.
