Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Southeast Michigan, winds to 75 mph and torrential rain

DETROIT – Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are being issued across Southeast Michigan, and that storm pattern could continue for the next few hours.

The National Weather Service in Detroit has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of the region through 7 p.m. tonight. The biggest risks are for high winds and heavy downpours.

“Damaging wind gusts of 60 to 75 mph and torrential rainfall will be the main threats, but potential also exists for large hail and tornadoes,” the NWS forecast update said…
