DETROIT – A lightning strike is believed to have sparked a fire at an apartment building on Detroit’s east side Thursday morning as storms moved through the area, while downed trees and power lines created hazards in neighborhoods across the city.
Residents at Chene Park Commons said they heard a loud boom before smoke and flames were reported in the attic and third floor of one building.
