A former longtime city of Warren employee is suing the city, as well as former and current Warren officials, alleging that his 2023 termination was unconstitutional and racially discriminatory.
Douglass Williams, a former property maintenance inspector for the city of Warren, filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Aug. 31.
In the suit, Williams alleges that in the fall of 2023, he was charged—and later acquitted—on one count of brandishing a firearm in public after an incident on Sept. 6, 2023, at his property.
