Man dies in overnight, fiery crash: OSP

SENECA COUNTY , Ohio (WJW) – A 32-year-old Ohio man died in a fiery crash shortly after midnight.

The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26 in Clinton Township on County Road 36 east of Township Road 1106.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Daniel Vogelpohl, 32, from Republic, Ohio was driving a 1999 red, Mercury Cougar when his vehicle went off the side of the roadway, and hit several trees before catching on fire.

Officials report, Vogelpohl was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

It is not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, said troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
