2 sentenced for trafficking drugs to Morgantown

MORGANTOWN (WBOY) — Two men will spend years behind bars after being found guilty of bringing several drugs, including fentanyl, to Morgantown as part of a multi-state drug trafficking operation.

According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Rex Jenkins, 34, of Southfield, Michigan, and James Elli, 43, of Point Marion, Pennsylvania, have been sentenced for their roles in a drug trafficking organization that moved narcotics throughout Philadelphia, Detroit and Morgantown.

Jenkins was convicted of trafficking fentanyl, meth and cocaine in March 2025 and has been sentenced to 124 months (10 years, four months) in prison. Elli was sentenced to 79 months (six years, seven months) in prison.
