DETROIT, MI – A long-vacant Detroit apartment building has been transformed into 47 affordable housing units.
Mayor Mary Sheffield joined developers and community partners for the grand opening of Weston Hall, a redeveloped 101-year-old building in Detroit’s Virginia Park neighborhood that now offers studio and one-bedroom apartments for residents earning between 50% and 80% of area median income.
“This is more than a building,” Sheffield said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “It is connection, it is community, and it’s in the neighborhood.”
