Fire heavily damages townhomes in northwest Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A townhome property in northwest Raleigh caught fire Monday afternoon.

Raleigh fire department officials confirmed crews were responding to the working fire at 4:21 p.m. in the 11100 block of Maplecroft Court.

A CBS 17 crew on the scene has seen at least 10 fire trucks as part of a major response from Raleigh and Durham, with dense smoke filling the air.

In an update just before 6 p.m., Battalion Chief Averette with Raleigh fire said the fire had been brought under control. Calls on the fire came in around 4 p.m. when a fire started in an end unit. The fire went on to spread, impacting four total townhomes, he said…
