Apex, NC – The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation following an incident reported this morning at a residence in the 200 block of Alston Road near Apex.
At approximately 11 a.m., Chatham County deputies and emergency responders were dispatched to the location after receiving a report about a possible dog attack.
Betty Alston, 85, was found deceased outside the residence. According to the preliminary investigation, a family member discovered three dogs near her body and was able to run the animals away.
The dogs have since been secured, and there is no ongoing threat to the community…
