A shooting in southwest Oklahoma City left one person wounded Monday, sending police into a neighborhood search for the gunman.
Officers said they found the victim near the intersection of Southwest 29th Place and South Dumas Avenue with two gunshot wounds. The person was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, according to authorities.
Oklahoma City police told News 9 that the shooter fired at the victim twice before fleeing the scene. Detectives began canvassing the neighborhood and pulling security-camera footage from nearby businesses as they searched for a suspect.
Another Incident on the South Corridor
The shooting is the latest burst of violence along the city’s south side. A recent late-night bike path killing rattled neighbors earlier this month, and local reporting shows residents are increasingly worried about safety in parks and public spaces as investigators juggle multiple open cases across the corridor.
