Kia issues ‘park outside recall’ for 460K vehicles over fire risk

(NewsNation) — Kia has issued a “park outside recall” for more than 460,000 vehicles because of a fire risk, federal regulators said.

The recall applies to certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles because the front power seat motor could overheat and potentially cause a fire while the car is parked or in motion, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The NHTSA said the issue is caused by “a stuck power seat slide knob or an improper recall 24V407 repair.” Affected owners will be notified by mail starting Aug. 13 and should take their vehicles to a Kia dealer for repairs…
