OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was able to avoid a fast-approaching semi-truck before it rear-ended a highway construction attenuator truck on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike.
The trooper, with emergency lights activated, was traveling behind an attenuator truck and a lane-striping vehicle on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike near mile marker 10 at approximately 10 mph, warning approaching motorists to slow down and move over.

In a video released by the department, a semi-truck can be seen rapidly approaching the trooper from behind, prompting the trooper to act quickly by speeding up and moving into the opposite lane. The trooper narrowly avoided another oncoming semi before eventually steering into a ditch.
