MEMPHIS, TENN. — An active weather pattern taking shape next week will bring more seasonable air to the northern Plains and Midwest, but the tradeoff is that above-normal heat will pump back north into the eastern Ag Belt and south-central United States, with BAM Weather noting this could be the last real shot of summer heat for some areas before the month is out.
An Active Pattern Sends Heat Back South Next Week
According to BAM Weather’s latest analysis, an active pattern developing across the northern Plains and Midwest next week will help usher in more seasonable temperatures for that part of the country. As a consequence of that same pattern shift, however, warmer air is expected to get pushed back north into the eastern Ag Belt and south-central U.S., reversing some of the cooler signals that had been discussed in recent outlooks for that broader region.
That kind of tradeoff, cooler conditions moving into one area while warmth shifts into another, is a common outcome when an active storm track redirects the flow of air masses across the country.
