UPDATE: OHP identifies body recovered at Lake Thunderbird

UPDATE: The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) has identified the victim recovered from Lake Thunderbird as George Gouldsby, 19, of Harrah, Oklahoma. The passenger, identified as Coriaun Jackson, 20, of Oklahoma City, remains in stable condition.

OHP says both Gouldsby and Jackson were out on the water when the vessel they were on made a sharp turn, separating the two. Authorities confirm that Jackson was pulled out of the water by an individual on shore. Gouldsby, who police say was operating the vessel, entered the water and unfortunately never resurfaced.

Gouldsby’s body was recovered from approximately 10 feet of water and pronounced dead on the scene. His body has been transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office, which will determine the manner of death.
