Weather Authority Alert: Potentially strong storms Tuesday, Wednesday in El Paso

As we talked about last week, Monday would be the “transitional day,” where we transition from hot and dry to very stormy. As of Monday afternoon, we are seeing quite a few storms in the eastern part of El Paso County. I am not nearly as nervous about the strength of the storms Monday night as I am on Tuesday and Wednesday, when storms could be much, much stronger.

Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Tuesday with your 9-Day Forecast below.

TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of late day/late evening t-showers.  The best chance for storms will be east of the Franklin Mountains, especially over the eastern part of El Paso County.  Brief rainfall and gusty winds may accompany the storms.  Occasional gusts my last well into the night until all the storms have tapered off.  The general winds will be SE at 5-15 mph, and the low will drop to 72.

FORECAST:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to the potential from strong t-showers, brief, heavy rain, powerful gusts, and even hail for the storms on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Tuesday will be partly cloudy but turn mostly cloudy as the t-showers build up.  Tuesday’s high will be 97, hot enough to power up very strong storms.  The SE winds will range from 5-20 mph with gusts near storms.  Wednesday will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and very humid.  Expect widely scattered and potentially strong t-showers bringing brief, heavy rain, powerful winds, and even hail.  Wednesday’s high: 90.  Thursday will be partly cloudy scattered PM t-showers.  Thursday’s high: 92.  Friday and Saturday will be partly cloudy and 95 with a chance of PM t-showers (hit-or-miss).  Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry with a high of 99.  Our first 100 of the year is shaping up to be next Monday with a high of 103…
