Heavy rain, powerful winds, even some hail for El Paso

It has been a parade of severe T-storms and heavy rain over Otero County and Hudspeth County. As of 5 PM, yes, El Paso has had scattered T-showers east of the mountains, but I am concerned about a major shift in the atmosphere after 6 PM. Our moisture and instability increase dramatically, and we could see a round of late night/early morning storms.

TONIGHT:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to the potential from strong t-showers, brief, heavy rain, powerful gusts, and even hail for the storms on Tuesday night and Wednesday.  The skies will be partly cloudy with scattered t-showers on the far east side of El Paso County.  After 6 PM, the atmosphere begins to turn very unstable, bringing the potential for strong late evening t-showers.  Some area storms may become strong with heavy rain, powerful winds, and even hail.  The winds will shift SE at 5-25 mph, and the low will be 67.

FORECAST:  Wednesday will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and fairly humid.  Expect widely scattered and potentially strong t-showers bringing brief, heavy rain, powerful winds, and even hail.  The SE winds will range from 10-20 mph with stronger gusts near storms.
