$10M in meth found in truck hauling polypropylene

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Calling it a “major interception,” border officials say a tractor-trailer hauling polypropylene from Mexico to the U.S. was also carrying more than $10 million worth of meth.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the truck, a Volvo, was ordered to undergo a secondary inspection on June 15 when it arrived at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas.

CBP said the truck was scanned by a drug-sniffing dog and X-ray technology before border officers found more than 1,100 pounds of methamphetamine within the shipment.
