Socorro mayor eyes growth after DHS abandons warehouses

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Socorro Mayor Rudy Cruz Jr. hopes warehouses once considered for massive immigrant detention and previously owned by the Department of Homeland Security can bring an economic boost to his city.

Mayor Cruz Cruz joined KTSM 9 News Anchor Andy Morgan live at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to discuss the warehouses and and what happens next now that the properties have been transferred to the General Services Administration (GSA).
