Free legal help available at Sunland Park Legal Fair

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Low-income New Mexicans will have an opportunity to receive free legal consultations at the Sunland Park Free Legal Fair next weekend.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Sunland Park Sports Complex, located at 4700 McNutt Rd.

The event is being held by the Third Judicial District Pro Bono Committee and the Volunteer Attorney Program of New Mexico Legal Aid to provide legal assistance and guidance to residents who are not able to afford the help, according to the news release by the Volunteer Attorney Program.

Attorneys at the event can address a variety of legal issues, including divorce, custody, child support, visitation, kinship guardianship, landlord/tenant disputes, creditor/debtor, wills, probate, employment matters, unemployment benefits and more, according to the Volunteer Attorney Program.

Bilingual attorneys and other staff will also be available at the event.

According to the Volunteer Attorney Program, the event is free for all New Mexicans and guests will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
