EL PASO, TEXAS — The family of two El Paso siblings who died during a February 2025 trip to Mexico City has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Airbnb, alleging the rental unit lacked proper ventilation and a functioning carbon monoxide detector.
The civil complaint was filed in San Francisco Superior Court and names 35-year-old Hugo Morales and his 37-year-old sister, Laura Morales, as the victims.

According to the lawsuit, the siblings traveled to Mexico City in February 2025 to attend a concert.
