El Paso fleeing suspect captured in NM had led police in a previous chase

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 28-year-old man who had led authorities in a high-speed chase that started in El Paso and ended in Anthony, New Mexico, has run-ins with the law before, according to an arrest affidavit for Miguel Angel Anchondo.

As previously reported by KTSM, Anchondo was charged on Friday, April 17, with evading arrest.

However, his court documents allege Anchondo has encountered authorities before when El Paso police were investigating a spree of burglaries and came across a red and black Nissan Cube that was involved.

El Paso police reported that on March 30, they located a suspected vehicle and tried pulling over the Nissan Cube at a Circle K located at 7660 North Mesa Street.

When officers approached, an individual exited from the passenger seat with his hands up and said, “I don’t have anything on me, I want no part of this,” the affidavit stated…
