EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A group of people in East El Paso gathered in a protest on Saturday afternoon, April 25 and called on Immigration and Customs Enforcement to release the wife of an active-duty soldier at Fort Bliss who has been detained.

About 50 demonstrators held signs and chanted outside of Camp East Montana.
The group heard from Sgt. 1st Class Jose Serrano and his plea for ICE to release his wife and allow them to work on her immigration status together.
“I am asking the Department of Homeland Security, ‘Please, let my wife go home,’” Serrano said. “(To) stay with me to continue with this process. And I promise, I am a soldier. I can’t leave. I can’t go anywhere. I will go with my wife to any appointment she has to go.”…
