DWI Court program receives award honoring success

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso DWI Court Intervention and Treatment program received an award that puts a “spotlight on its success.”

Judge Robert S. Anchondo, of County Criminal Court at Law No. 2, said that the court’s DWI program received a Spotlight on Success Award at the recent DWI Court Team Conference held in Galveston.

The conference is open for both new and existing DWI Court Team members and focuses on new research and specialty court hot topics.The multidisciplinary team consists of professionals representing the 34th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, El Paso County Public Defender’s Office, law enforcement from both El Paso Police Department and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, substance abuse counselors from Alliviane and peer coaches from Punto De Partida and a case manager from from El Paso County Criminal Justice Coordination as well as three community supervision officers from El Paso County Community Supervision and Corrections Department and services from Emergence Health Network (EHN).“As every member of the team is dedicated to serving the community by treating individuals with substance abuse in order to stop DWI recidivism, we are proud to celebrate the program for all of its hard work and well-deserved award,” the County said…
