EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Safety protocols at two El Paso Independent School District campuses have been lifted after precautionary measures were put in place Thursday, April 30.
Earlier in the day, Jefferson Silva High School was placed under a “secure” protocol, while El Paso High School was briefly on “lockdown” before transitioning to “secure” status. District officials said the measures were taken out of an abundance of caution as law enforcement responded.
In an update to families, the district confirmed that all security protocols at both campuses have since been lifted and normal operations have resumed.
El Paso ISD police, along with law enforcement partners, responded promptly and remained on scene until the situation was resolved. Officials have not released details about what prompted the precautionary actions but reiterated that there was no ongoing threat…
