There was extra color in the pews at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Sunday as members gathered for the church’s semiannual Quilt Dedication Service. This year’s dedication marked a major milestone for the church’s Patchwork of Love quilting group, the dedication of its 10,000th quilt.
The Patchwork of Love quilters create handmade quilts that are donated throughout the year to children, nonprofit organizations, and church members in need. The group meets weekly and has spent decades using its talents to give back to others.
“Very rewarding. I love quilting and it’s one of my gifts from God and I enjoy doing this to help others,” said quilter Joanne Erikson, who joined the group in 2020.
