Erie seniors have an opportunity today to get a little extra help with their grocery bills, thanks to the Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC).
GECAC’s Area Agency on Aging is distributing vouchers as part of Pennsylvania’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program at the Bayfront Convention Center. The distribution is taking place throughout the day and will continue until 3 p.m.
The program is designed to provide eligible seniors with access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables while also supporting regional farmers. Organizers say it plays an important role in promoting healthier eating habits and helping older adults stretch their food budgets…
