(WJET/WFXP) — Beach goers should be aware of restricted swimming at Presque Isle this week.
Effective Tuesday June 16 at approximately 11 a.m., Beach 6 at Presque Isle State Park is under a “Restricted Swimming” advisory due to elevated E. coli bacteria counts.
Presque Isle to receive federal funding for sand replenishment
Visitors are not permitted to enter the water at the affected beach until the E. coli count is managed. Though swimming at Beach 6 is not permitted, the beach itself will be open for sunbathing and other recreational activities.
