Second Annual Throw Out Cancer Invitational raises funds

More than 100 field athletes gathered at Penn State Behrend for the second annual Throw Out Cancer Invitational, a fundraising event that combined field competition with community support.

“It means the world. Obviously, we started with Brian [Milne],” said event organizer Dan Dabrowski. “We wanted to keep that going and bring some help to these local families. Obviously, all of this is a lot. It’s a big lift to put on, but it’s so worth it in the end.”

The invitational welcomed competitors ranging from middle school athletes to masters-level participants. Proceeds from the event will benefit local families battling cancer in Erie County through the UPMC Hamot Patient Advocacy Department…
