Nearly four months after a devastating house fire claimed the lives of three young children, family members, neighbors, and community supporters returned to East 26th Street Thursday evening to remember the lives that were lost and continue the community’s healing.
The vigil, organized by the Benedictines for Peace, honored the memories of Da’Liyla, Tobias, and Amirah, the three children who died in the March 29 house fire that deeply impacted the Erie community.
Organizers said they hoped to transform a place associated with unimaginable loss into one of healing, hope, and remembrance while reminding those in attendance that no family should have to carry grief alone.
