Millcreek Township supervisors are considering seeking out a new location for the Belle Valley Fire Department.
Last week, Millcreek’s Fire and EMS Commission recommended supervisors seek out a new location for the station to be located on.
Fire departments asking residents for help keeping hydrants clear
Belle Valley’s current home has had a history with flooding, something everyone would like to avoid.
“The new location that would be chosen would number one, serve the most amount of residents based on historical calls that are made, and also to make sure that we would have access to those residents in a timely manner. And we would really want to ensure it’s in a place that is not in a flood zone,” said Kim Clear, Millcreek Township supervisor.
Clear said right now, there is no timeline for this proposal and that they’ll continue to study the logistics of a move.
