When the CEO of MHEDS got a call from their east side location on Wednesday morning, she told them she would be there in 20 minutes.
“I walked in, there was lots of water on the floor but also a lot of sagging ceiling panels all down the stretch of hall we’re standing in,” said Alivia Haibach, CEO of the Multi-Cultural Health Evaluation Delivery System, or MHEDS.
After seeing the extent of the damage, Halbach realized they were going to have to completely empty out their phlebotomy lab, the place they do all of their blood draws across their three locations.

She said they’re going to have to replace the lab as soon as possible to continue providing that care to multicultural and underprivileged communities, but estimates damages could cost between $15,000 to $20,000…
