University of Oregon to shut dorm as housing demand falls

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon will close at least one dorm next year as fewer students choose to live on campus.

The university expects a nine to 10 percent decrease in on-campus housing. University Housing sent a letter to full-time housing staff Tuesday, informing them Barnhart Hall will close and Riley Hall will only be occupied if needed.
