Bethel School Board adopts budget, approves contract with classified union

The Bethel School Board voted unanimously Wednesday, June 24, to adopt the budget for the 2026-27 school year and approved a new contract for the district’s classified staff.

The district’s $164 million budget was only about $300,000 less than last year’s, but the district will see losses. Bethel closed Shasta Middle School at the end of the school year, and the building will soon be leased by the Boys & Girls Club of Emerald Valley.
