OAKRIDGE, Ore. – Lane County investigators are asking for the public’s help to solve a nearly 21-year-old double homicide that happened outside Oakridge, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said deputies found two people shot to death at a dispersed campsite off Forest Service Road 2134 on July 1, 2005. Dispatchers got the call just after 5 p.m. The victims were identified as 54-year-old Stevan Lynn Haugen and 56-year-old Jeanette Elaine Bauman. Their dog Ceasar was also killed by gunfire. Detectives investigated the scene and followed every lead. But despite countless hours of work, the case went cold.
Cold case investigators with the sheriff’s office are now reviewing the case. They believe more information exists in the community that could help solve the murders and bring closure to the families…
