Oregon missing on Gecova Doyal is a small hiccup in a great day for the Ducks

After the excitement that was the month of June for the Oregon Ducks on the recruiting trail, Dan Lanning and the coaching staff are looking to keep the momentum rolling in July. As Official Visit has come to an end, top recruits enter decision mode, and the start of the month will see some of the top prospects in the country come off the board.

Rivals is bringing some excitement to the Summer with their new Rivals Summer Signing Day Event. As part of the event, 9 highly touted recruits are announcing their commitments, with Oregon as a finalist for 3 of the players announcing. While you always hope to win out for recruitments, the first of the trio didn’t go the Ducks way.

Oregon misses out on 4-star Gecova Doyal in expected loss

On Wednesday Morning, the Oregon Ducks missed on the first of their three targets for the day as 4-star offensive lineman Gecova Doyal picked Washington over Oregon, UCLA, and Utah.

While the Washington fans will get to carry on about how the Huskies beat the Ducks for their class that still ranks outside the top 20, this isn’t a major loss for Oregon. Gecova Doyal is certainly a talented player that the Ducks would’ve liked in this class, as he’s ranked as a 4-star recruit and a top 400 player in the country…
