Springfield museum reopens after renovations, new exhibit debuts

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Springfield History Museum reopened after months of renovations funded through grants and community donations.

The museum’s Kathy Jensen Gallery now has new flooring, updated exhibit cases and a more flexible layout for exhibits and community events. The reopening also introduces a new exhibit exploring farm labor in the Willamette Valley.

“Our whole goal for this place is to be a community museum and a community space, so it needs to be accessible, it needs to be kind of—it needs to be a joy to be in, because then that’ll bring people in and they’ll get to learn about their local history in a way that feels positive and feels community-friendly and family-friendly,” McGraw said…
