EUGENE, Ore. – Fire crews battled a house fire near downtown Eugene early Sunday morning, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.
ESF authorities said a caller reported thick black smoke coming from a vacant home in the 1400 block of Ferry Street just after 5 a.m. on Aug. 16. Engine 1 from the downtown station arrived in under four minutes to find the single-story home heavily involved in fire.
