If you’ve driven past the intersection of Gateway Street and Beltline Road in northwest Springfield lately, you may have noticed a shiny new sign.
The 20-foot-wide, 5-foot-tall aluminum “Welcome to Springfield, Oregon” sign installed at the base of the “Flame” sculpture is part of the final phase of a project that began 10 years ago, said city spokesperson Elyse Ditzel in an email to Lookout Eugene-Springfield.
