DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — A head-on crash on Highway 38 in Douglas County left two drivers dead Tuesday afternoon and shut down the highway for hours.
Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to the two-vehicle fatal crash right befor 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, near milepost 27. Investigators said a blue Honda Ridgeline pickup, driven eastbound by Gail Elizabeth Smith, 65, of Coburg, crossed the center line for unknown reasons and entered the westbound lanes.
